Instructions
Let your Denver steak come to room temperature before cooking.
Preheat your skillet or grill to medium-high heat.
Rub your steak with olive oil and season it with salt and black pepper.
Place your steak in the hot skillet or grill and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until it reaches your desired level of doneness. Use a meat thermometer to monitor the internal temperature.
Remove the steak from the skillet or grill and let it rest for 5-10 minutes.
Optional: top the steak with garlic compound butter, chimichurri, or wine reduction sauce.
Notes
For a medium-rare steak, cook until the internal temperature reaches 135°F. For a medium steak, cook until it reaches 145°F. For a well-done steak, cook until it reaches 160°F.
Be sure to let your steak rest before slicing it to allow the juices to redistribute and create a more tender and juicy steak.
