Enjoy the taste of Wingstop's popular Louisiana Rub flavor at home with this copycat recipe. The dry rub mix is made with a blend of cajun spices, brown sugar, and chili powder to give the wings a sweet, spicy, and smoky flavor.
Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) or preheat the air fryer to 390°F (200°C).
In a small bowl, mix together the garlic powder, onion powder, cajun seasoning, creole seasoning, brown sugar, cayenne pepper, chili powder, and black pepper.
Line a large baking sheet with aluminum foil and place a wire rack on top.
Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels and place them in a large mixing bowl.
Drizzle a little bit of vegetable oil over the wings and toss to coat.
Sprinkle the dry rub mixture over the wings, making sure each piece is evenly coated.
Place the wings on the wire rack in a single layer and bake in the oven for 25-30 minutes, or air fry for 15-18 minutes, until crispy and golden brown.
Serve the wings with your favorite dipping sauce, such as ranch or blue cheese dressing, and enjoy!
Notes
Store any leftover wings in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
For a milder heat, reduce the amount of cayenne pepper in the dry rub mix.
For a spicier flavor, add extra cayenne pepper or a dash of hot sauce to the dry rub mix.
