The Recipe How-To

Now that we know the ingredients, it’s time to start cooking! Here’s how you can create juicy and flavorful Grilled Tampico Chicken Breast.

Step 1: Preparing the Chicken

  • Clean the chicken breasts and pat them dry with paper towels.
  • Cut the excess fat from the chicken breasts using a sharp knife.
  • Pound the chicken breast to make sure they are of equal thickness. This will help in even cooking.

Step 2: Chicken Marinade

For this recipe, we’ll be making a marinade that has a citrusy flavor with a spicy kick. In a bowl mix:

  • 1 minced garlic clove
  • 1/4 cup of hot chili sauce
  • 1/4 cup of apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup of carrot juice
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • Juice of 1 orange
  • Salt and pepper to taste (I recommend using kosher salt)

Pour the mixture into a ziplock bag, add the cleaned chicken breasts and marinate for at least two hours up to overnight. This will enhance the flavor and make it juicier.

Step 3: Prepare the Jalapeño Cheese Sauce

In a small bowl mix:

  • 1 cup of cream cheese
  • 1 jalapeño chopped
  • 1 cup of shredded jack cheese
  • 1 tablespoon of taco seasoning

Mix well until all ingredients are combined.

Step 4: Grill the Chicken

Remove the chicken from the ziplock bag, set aside the marinade sauce for glazing later on.

Grill the chicken on medium heat for about five minutes on each side or until fully cooked (165°F internal temperature). Make sure to grill it evenly so you get that juicy and tender feel throughout.

Once grilled to perfection, place chicken on a platter or cutting board.

Using a spoon or piping bag, top each chicken breast with Jalapeño Cheese Sauce. Your tampico-style chicken breast topped with jalapeño cheese is now ready!

Serve and Enjoy!

Substitutions and Variations

When it comes to creating your own twist on the Tampico Chicken Breast Recipe, there are a few substitutions and variations you can try. One easy substitution is to replace the hot chili sauce with a milder sauce or even omit it entirely if you prefer a less spicy flavor. Similarly, if you do not have apple cider vinegar on hand, you can use other types of vinegar such as white distilled vinegar or rice vinegar. Additionally, if you do not have carrot juice available, orange juice is an alternative that can add a similar sweet and citrusy taste.

For those looking to add an extra kick to the chicken breast recipe, try adding minced jalapeno to the marinade mixture. This will give a greater amount of heat to the dish and complement the flavorful Mexican-style chicken perfectly.

If you are looking for more variety in terms of presentation, consider trying stuffed chicken breasts instead of a simple grilled chicken tampico. Cut open each chicken breast and stuff them with your favorite cheese before grilling for a gooey and delicious surprise in each bite. For even more flavor, consider making a jalapeno cheese sauce recipe to top off your grilled chicken.

Finally, if boneless chicken breasts are not available or preferred in your area, bone-in chicken breasts can be used as well. Simply adjust cooking times accordingly and season with taco seasoning for an equally delicious meal.

Regardless of which substitutions or variations you choose, be sure to adjust cooking times and seasoning accordingly for perfect results every time. Have fun experimenting with different flavors and creating your own new Tampico recipes!

Serving and Pairing

 Love at first bite!
Love at first bite!

When it comes to serving and pairing Tampico Chicken Breast, this recipe is a versatile dish that can be paired with a wide variety of sides and toppings. The bold flavors make it great for a festive occasion like a backyard BBQ or a Mexican-themed fiesta.

Firstly, consider serving the chicken breast topped with jalapeño cheese sauce. The hot chili sauce combined with the cheese sauce creates an intensely flavorful sauce that works beautifully with grilled chicken. Alternatively, you could serve a side of refried beans as the main accompaniment to the dish. The creaminess of refried beans provides a nice contrast to the spiciness of the chicken seasoning.

Another great pairing for Tampico Chicken Breast is Mexican-style rice. This helps to balance out the heat and adds another layer of flavor to your meal. Additionally, guacamole or avocado slices add a refreshing touch that cools the taste buds and complements the bold flavors.

If you are looking for something lighter or more refreshing, try placing the chicken on top of a bed of mixed greens or shredded cabbage. This would help cut down on calories and carbs while still delivering plenty of flavor.

For drink pairings, try margaritas or any citrus-based drink, such as lemonade or iced tea. You could also opt for Mexican beer or tequila shots if you’re in the mood for something stronger.

In summary, when serving Tampico Chicken Breast, be creative and choose sides and drinks that bring out the rich and vibrant Mexican-citrus flavors in the dish.

Make-Ahead, Storing and Reheating

A mouthwatering treat that's worth the time!
A mouthwatering treat that’s worth the time!

Once you’ve made your grilled Tampico chicken breast, you’ll want to make sure any leftovers are stored correctly to maintain their optimal flavor and texture. Luckily, this dish is easy to store and reheat!

First, let the chicken rest for about 10 minutes after grilling. Then, cut it into slices or cubes for easier storage. I like to place the chicken in an airtight container or wrap it tightly with plastic wrap. You can refrigerate it for up to 4 days.

If you want to freeze your grilled Tampico chicken, let it cool completely before freezing. You can store it for up to 3 months in an airtight container or freezer bag. However, keep in mind that freezing may change the texture of the chicken slightly.

When it’s time to reheat your chicken, there are a few different methods you can use depending on personal preference. One simple way is to place the sliced or chopped chicken in a non-stick skillet over medium heat and cook until heated through. You can also reheat it in the microwave by covering with a damp paper towel and heating in 30-second increments until heated through.

The key to reheating grilled Tampico chicken breast is to be careful not to overcook it as this can dry out the meat and make it chewy. Generally, reheating for 2-3 minutes should be sufficient.

Overall, this recipe is perfect for meal prep and can easily be made ahead of time, stored, and reheated for a delicious and quick meal throughout the week. It’s versatile enough that you can enjoy it as is or use it as a base for other dishes like salads or tacos!

Tips for Perfect Results

Smoky aroma and irresistible taste – it's all here!
Smoky aroma and irresistible taste – it’s all here!

To achieve the perfect Tampico Chicken Breast recipe with juicy and tender meat, there are a few tips and tricks you need to know while grilling.

Firstly, make sure to marinate the chicken breasts for at least 30 minutes up to overnight to infuse the chicken with flavor. This will help the meat absorb all the tangy Mexican citrus marinade and hot chili sauce flavors, making it more flavorful and juicy on the grill.

Secondly, let the chicken rest after grilling for at least 5-7 minutes before serving. This helps to retain moisture in the meat, keeping it plump and juicy.

Thirdly, to ensure even cooking of the chicken breast, pound them into equal thickness before marinating. This not only makes it easier to cook but also ensures that each part is cooked evenly without leaving any undercooked or dry spots.

Fourthly, preheat your grill before cooking to ensure that it reaches the desired temperature. A hot grill creates those lovely grill marks on your chicken breasts while enhancing its flavor.

Lastly, use a meat thermometer to test doneness by checking the internal temperature of your grilled chicken tampico until it reaches 165°F. Avoid cutting into your grilled chicken breast while still cooking as this can cause the juices to escape, leaving your meat dry.

With these tips in mind, you are now equipped to make perfect grilled Tampico Chicken Breasts that are juicy with just enough kick of flavors from the marinade. Enjoy!

In conclusion, the Grilled Tampico Chicken Breast Recipe is a delicious and easy way to have a restaurant-quality meal right at your own home.
